Northern Ohio Youth Winter Retreat
"Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity." (I Timothy 4:12)
This was the theme of this year's Northern Ohio Youth Winter Retreat held at the Peek 'n Peak Ski Resort in New York on December 27 - 29, 2004. College and graduate students from St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Church of Cleveland and St. George Coptic Orthodox Church of Toledo participated in this retreat. Each of the youth participated in some way, whether it was food preparation or ski instruction. By the end of the retreat, there was a sense of connectedness and growth, with everyone feeling more united and spiritually enhanced. The tears on people's faces said it all. Both of our beloved priests, Fr. Mikhail and Fr. Marcos, inspired the youth and they responded in a very positive manner, showing a desire to make this an annual retreat.
